We’ve always known we wanted to have children. When our nieces and nephews were born, it made us even more certain: being around kids gives us a lot of joy!
We both had very happy childhoods that involved playing outside, doing art projects, baking cookies, reading books, and playing music. As parents, we’d very much like to introduce a child to all of these things. We live a short walk from the beach, parks, and several public libraries in our neighborhood. Jason is the artist in the family so he’ll keep our paints and crayons well-stocked, and Lindsay has the cookie cutters ready. We both love to read and look forward to nightly storytime. And we have a guitar and a ukulele so we can sing together.
Our parents raised us with kindness and patience. They were always there to offer guidance and to help us learn boundaries, but they also let us find our own interests and passions. We think that’s a pretty good way to parent and that’s how we’d like to raise a child.
We think that education is extremely important. Living in West L.A. puts us in a very good school district, and we’re near several art and science museums.
Most importantly, we want to raise a child who feels unconditionally loved and supported.
